The Kinks kündigen den dritten und letzten Teil ihrer ganz besonderen Anthologie-Reihe an: „The Journey – Part 3“.
„Part 3“ behandelt ihre transformative RCA/Arista-Zeit von 1977 bis 1984, eine Zeit, in der die Band endgültig in Amerika durchbrach, ihre legendären Pop- und Experimentalphasen hinter sich ließ und zu einem frischen und prägnanten Stil des klassischen Songwritings zurückkehrte, der von ihrem eigenen, ausgeprägten britischen Selbstverständnis zeugt.
CD 1 enthält Klassiker und Hits aus dieser Zeit, persönlich von der Band ausgewählt und von den Original-Sampler- und Produktionsbändern remastert, darunter „Come Dancing“, „Destroyer“ und „Living On A Thin Line“.
CD 2 enthält bisher unveröffentlichte Aufnahmen des Hit-reichen Auftritts der Band in der Royal Albert Hall im Juli 1993, darunter fesselnde Interpretationen von „You Really Got Me“ und „Till The End of the Day“ und vielen anderen.
Sowohl unsere 180-g-Doppel-LP als auch die Doppel-CD enthalten Track-by-Track-Kommentare der Band sowie neue Linernotes von Phil Alexander.
