Is it just a happy coincidence? Twenty years after their debut album in 1999, a cornerstone of the “French Touch”, the duo of Philippe “Zdar” Cerboneschi and Hubert “Boom Bass” Blanc-Francard are releasing their fifth work, Dreems.
The album is a collection of “songs of innocence regained”, as Etienne Daho, another Ibiza lover, would describe it. Because just three years after the ambitious and flamboyant Ibifornia, the duo said: “We locked ourselves in a studio to regain a form of spontaneity and fun.”
Ten years had to wait after “15 Again”, but this time the two friends wanted to be quicker. Very quickly, because the initial plan was to finish the recordings in just three weeks. Of course, that turned into three months - but that's nothing on the Cassius timescale. The twelve songs on this explosive album illustrate more than ever their war cry, or rather their cry of love: “Cassius, rockin' nonstop since 1999”.
