Celebrating Pierre Henry’s centenary and the 60th anniversary of “Messe pour le temps présent”, Decca Records France presents a limited 2-LP edition of this landmark work. Created in 1967 for Maurice Béjart’s visionary ballet at the Avignon Festival, the piece brought together Pierre Henry and Michel Colombier in a groundbreaking fusion of electroacoustic sound, orchestral writing and contemporary dance rhythms. Driven by the iconic “Psyché Rock”, now widely regarded as a precursor to electronic dance music, its influence still resonates today. This deluxe edition brings together the original 1967 recording, selected remixes from “Métamorphose” and Henry’s previously unreleased “Fantaisie Messe pour le temps présent” from 2013, pressed on 180g vinyl and presented in a deluxe gatefold with new French and English liner notes.
