Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy returns on March 6, 2026 with the album ‘We Are Together Again’. The album is warm and personal, and is also designed to begin and end with the same words: 'Why is the lion still here, outside?

Thematically, the album is deeply rooted in Louisville, Bonnie “Prince” Billy's hometown. It celebrates the power of friendship, local community, and collaborative artistic creation. In doing so, it deliberately sets a counterpoint to globalization and instead advocates for localism. It was recorded live at End of an Ear studio with local musicians, friends, and family members. Every note is direct and unadulterated—what happens in the room is what you hear on the recording. “We Are Together Again” does not take away the fears of a changing world, but meets them with harmony. The album tells of solidarity, of the joy of being together, and of how asking questions together becomes a source of hope.
