“Evolution” is the debut album by American trombonist Grachan Moncur III. Moncur’s band consists of alto saxophonist Jackie McLean, trumpeter Lee Morgan, vibraphonist Bobby Hutcherson, bassist Bob Cranshaw and drummer Tony Williams. The Penguin Guide to Jazz describes the album as "an invigorating and intellectually satisfying set," commenting "the whole record has a dark, misterioso quality that the lowering trombone sound... strongly accentuates."

BLUE NOTE CLASSIC VINYL EDITION: stereo, all-analog, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original master tapes, and pressed on 180g vinyl at Optimal.
