“Never For Ever” marks a pivotal moment in Kate Bush’s discography, when she took full creative control for the first time and further refined her distinctive art pop style. The album combines experimental song structures with literary and surreal motifs, while simultaneously standing at the threshold of her later, even more distinctive sound. In its historical context, “Never For Ever” remains a seminal work straddling accessible pop and avant-garde studio art.
