Release date: May 27, 2016

“I Want You”, which was released on March 16, 1976, made it to #4 in the US, but stunned many: It wasn't a collection of songs, but a symphony that, like the longing that drove Gaye, had ebbs and flows, light and shade. But in its blend of quiet soul, interstellar disco and Gaye's intricately multi-tracked, doo-wop-inspired vocals, it laid the blueprint for the R&B and neo-soul stars of the 90s and 00s.
