The acclaimed BRITISH JAZZ EXPLOSION series presents “Voyages – The Argo Studio Albums Vol. 1”, bringing four key works by British modern jazz pianist and composer Michael Garrick back to vinyl for the first time. The limited 4-LP box collects “The Heart Is A Lotus” (1970), “Mr Smith’s Apocalypse” (1971), “Home Stretch Blues” (1972) and “Troppo” (1974), tracing Garrick’s distinctive musical world across post-bop, modal jazz, free-form explorations and poetry. Featured musicians include Norma Winstone, Don Rendell, Ian Carr, Art Themen, Henry Lowther and Coleridge Goode. All four albums have been remastered all-analogue at Abbey Road Studios directly from the original stereo master tapes and pressed on 180g vinyl. The deluxe box presents the albums in their original artwork (3 single + 1 gatefold sleeve), with black poly-lined inner sleeves, plus a 20-page LP-sized booklet featuring new essays, photographs and images of the original tape boxes.
