Militarie Gun's new album, “God Save The Gun,” begins with a confession. “I've made mistakes,” frontman Ian Shelton roars in the opening track, “B A D I D E A.” It's genuine vulnerability, embedded between distorted bass and booming drums, and the perfect introduction to one of the most exciting albums of the year. This is not only a sonically daring, massive rock album, but also a very human document about feeling your worst when you should actually be on top of the world—an absurd guide to the intersection of self-destruction and self-confidence.
