Pulp announce their new album “More,” their first in almost 24 years. It will be released on June 6 by Rough Trade Records. The album will be released in Germany digitally, on CD and MC, as well as on black vinyl, as a dark green ‘Theresa’ LP and “Blue Sky Thinking” Marble LP (indie exclusive). The first single is the anthemic “Spike Island,” produced with synthesizers, violins, and slide guitars by James Ford (Arctic Monkeys, Fontaines DC), who is also responsible for producing the album. The lyrical inspiration for “Spike Island” comes from co-writer Jason Buckle (Relaxed Muscle), who was present at the infamous "90s Spike Island gig by the Stone Roses. A DJ had been shouting “Spike Island, come alive!” into the microphone over and over again all day long, not only getting on the nerves of the audience, but also sticking in Jarvis Cocker's head - who was now writing his second song about Spike Island, even though he wasn't even at the concert himself.
