Multi-instrumentalist, producer, and artist Shabaka (Hutchings) releases his third solo album, “Of The Earth,” which is also the first to be released on his own label, Shabaka Records, and was written and produced entirely by him.
On “Of The Earth,” Shabaka returns to his signature saxophone sound, complemented by sophisticated electronics and production, as well as traditional woodwind instruments and percussion from around the world.
This combination highlights his versatile talent and shapes the overall sound of the album. Hutchings is highly regarded for his work with The Comet Is Coming, Sons Of Kemet, Shabaka And The Ancestors, as well as his two most recent solo projects, “Perceive Its Beauty, Acknowledge Its Grace” (2024) and “Afrikan Culture” (2023).

As a musician, he has collaborated with a number of renowned artists, including Andre 3000, Floating Points, Mulatu Astatke, The Sun Ra Arkestra, Lianne La Havas, Saul Williams, and many more.

“Of The Earth” is released here as a black vinyl LP and includes a booklet featuring Hutchings' own artwork.
