“Sweet Rain” is reviewed as one of Stan Getz' all-time greeatest albums and yet leads something of a shadowy existence. He recorded it following his hugely popular bossa nova phase with a new band consistng of pianist Chick Corea, bassist Ron Carter and Grady Tate on drums, which inspired the tenor saxophonist to new heights as a soloist and allowed him to play much more freely than in previous years.
