“Hatful Of Hollow” brings together early BBC sessions, singles, and B-sides by The Smiths, documenting the band in 1983–84 during a particularly raw phase that straddled indie rock, post-punk, and Morrissey’s incisive songwriting. In addition to alternate versions of key tracks like “This Charming Man” and “What Difference Does It Make?”, the album features some of the band’s most iconic recordings, including “How Soon Is Now?” and “Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want.” The remastered vinyl edition highlights the clear, guitar-driven character of Johnny Marr’s arrangements and the historical significance of this compilation in The Smiths’ catalog.
