“8: Kindred Spirits” was the name of the live album released in 2020 on the occasion of his 80th birthday. In 2021, the unbroken, creative saxophonist welcomes the third album of his ensemble The Marvels with Bill Frisell (guitar), Greg Leisz (pedal steel), Reuben Rogers (bass) and Eric Harland (drums), with originals and pearls from Ornette's pen Coleman, Thelonious Monk, Leonard Cohen and Gabor Szabo. The vinyl edition is part of the successful audiophile Tone Poet LP series from Blue Note Records.
