Johnny Cash – Johnny Cash Is Coming To Town (1987) 1LP
Originally released in April 1987, Johnny Cash Is Coming to Town was Johnny Cash’s first album proper on Mercury Records (following the collaboration album Class Of ’55, with Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis and Roy Orbison)
The album features the tracks “Sixteen Tons”, previously a hit for Tennessee Ernie Ford, and “The Big Light”, an Elvis Costello song from his album King of America. The album reached #36 on the US Billboard Country chart, while the only released single, “The Night Hank Williams Came to Town”, peaked at #43.
Featuring remastered audio for the very first time, using the original Mercury master tapes, the LP reissue is pressed on 180g vinyl for the highest quality audio fidelity and accompanied by a MP3 download voucher.
