Thundercat returns with his fifth studio album “Distracted,” released April 3, 2026 via Brainfeeder. Six years after his last LP, the Grammy-winning bassist and visionary artist delivers a new record that blends jazz, funk, soul, and modern pop into his unmistakable signature sound.

The album features collaborations with A$AP Rocky, WILLOW, Tame Impala, Channel Tres, and a previously unreleased track with the late Mac Miller. “Distracted” was created in close collaboration with super-producer Greg Kurstin (Adele, Paul McCartney, Sia, Beyoncé, Beck), with additional production from Flying Lotus, Kenny Beats, and The Lemon Twigs.

Musically, the album sits between the frenetic energy of “Drunk” and the emotional depth of “It Is What It Is.” On “Distracted,” Thundercat explores life in the modern attention economy, reflecting on how distraction can be both an obstacle and a form of healing.

“Distracted” is a vibrant and deeply personal album that combines groove, emotion, and fearless creativity—an essential release for fans of modern jazz-funk, neo-soul, and boundary-pushing pop.
