With Fear Inoculum, Tool marks a late, deliberately unhurried chapter in their discography in 2019, one that transforms the band’s progressive metal into expansive, richly detailed structures. Instead of immediate force, a precisely crafted sonic architecture dominates, in which rhythm and texture coexist on equal footing. On vinyl, this work gains additional depth and definition thanks to its spatial depth and long arcs of tension, underscoring Tool’s mature compositional style.
