Release date: March 28, 2025

Saxophonist Branford Marsalis, one of the most important jazz artists of our time and a key creative force in the American music scene for more than four decades, gives his Blue Note debut with "Belonging", a complete reinterpretation of Keith Jarrett's 1974 ECM album of the same name, the debut of his European Quartet. “Belonging” is Marsalis’ first new release since 2019 with his acclaimed, long-running quartet featuring pianist Joey Calderazzo, bassist Eric Revis and drummer Justin Faulkner. With “Belonging,” Branford Marsalis and his quartet demonstrate how loving engagement with an admired work and the freedom of jazz can create a new, equally impressive piece of work.
