Release date: 23 January 2026
This compilation of the best tracks from Gil Scott-Heron’s Flying Dutchman era was originally released in 1974 and brings together tracks from his first three albums, *Small Talk At 154th And Lennox* (1970), *Pieces Of A Man* (1971) and *Free Will* (1972).
Ace re-released this album on vinyl for the first time in the UK in 2017 (BGPD 306), albeit in a simple sleeve with a printed inner sleeve.
This version now presents ‘The Revolution Will Not Be Televised’ in the original Flying Dutchman format with a gatefold cover.
The music and lyrics – pressed onto 180-gram vinyl – are as relevant today as they were in the early 1970s.
